Oompah-pah at its finest, the aroma of sizzling bratwurst and the cries of “prost” once again mark the arrival Downtown Vision, Inc.'s second-annual Oktoberfest @ Art Walk, a benefit for Downtown’s signature event, First Wednesday Art Walk.
Hosted by Kerry Speckman, a.k.a The Specktator, make plans to grab a frosty stein and toast to great music, art and German culture, all wrapped into one fun-filled and extended Art Walk night.
Grab your beer stein and favorite fraulein, and join us for our second-annual Oktoberfest @ Art Walk, hosted by Kerry Speckman. Enjoy the biergarten block party featuring German, seasonal and local brews, plus live oompah-pah music by Dan Witucki and Mein Heimatland Musikanten Band and German-style food from local restaurants. Plus, participate in crowd contests including beer-stein holding, yodeling and more.
Learn about the Cultural Council’s Spark Grant program as you stroll through the 2014 winners. Enjoy Jenny Hager’s Sculpture Walk Jacksonville featuring sculptures from various artists; The Jacksonville Zoo and Garden with animals and artifacts; and Liz Gibson’s Deformance Art. Listen to the beats of Mal Jones’ The Lyrcist Hour, and help create a community mosaic by RouxArts.
Celebrate Taylor Hardwick’s 60 years of design from 5-9 p.m.

Each month, Art Walk headquarters at Hemming Plaza hosts dozens of artists, seeking to show and sell their works. From jewelry to paintings and more, you’ll find a mix of unique, handmade items from both emerging and established artists.
